We use pc/FlexNet for our radios and terminal node controllers (TNCs). The TNCs require 6pack eproms. 6pack is very touchy with the FIFO and UART type. Under dosemu_1.4.0+svn.2080-1_i386.deb, the TNCs behave just perfectly fine but under the newer/current DOSEmu package they do not. Data is grunged and they have a much harsher duty cycle making the current DOSEmu unusable. It acts as if it's somehow presetting the comports to a 16650 or greater UART with no way to change this. I don't know if this affects other DOSEmu systems that may perhaps use dialup modems but with a radio modem/TNC it's not at all usable. -- If Confucius were alive today: "A computing device left in the OFF power state never crashes" ----- 73 de Brian N1URO IPv6 Certified SMTP: n1uro-at-n1uro.ampr.org From unknown Thu Mar 28 18:00:53 2024 Received: (at 429) by bugs.devuan.org; 25 Apr 2020 17:00:02 +0000 Return-Path: Delivered-To: devuanbugs@dyne.org Received: from tupac3.dyne.org [195.169.149.119] by doc.devuan.org with IMAP (fetchmail-6.4.0.beta4) for (single-drop); Sat, 25 Apr 2020 17:00:02 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mx.hindley.org.uk (mohindley.plus.com [81.174.245.179]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by vm6.ganeti.dyne.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 393BBF609F0 for <429@bugs.devuan.org>; Sat, 25 Apr 2020 18:51:11 +0200 (CEST) Received: from apollo.hindleynet ([192.168.1.3] helo=hindley.org.uk) by mx.hindley.org.uk with smtp (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1jSO1A-0004jo-Sj; Sat, 25 Apr 2020 17:51:05 +0100 Received: (nullmailer pid 22331 invoked by uid 1000); Sat, 25 Apr 2020 16:51:04 -0000 Date: Sat, 25 Apr 2020 17:51:03 +0100 From: Mark Hindley To: 429@bugs.devuan.org, Brian Subject: Re: DOSEmu handling of FIFO in comports Message-ID: <20200425165103.GA31707@hindley.org.uk> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <1587828227.5468.31.camel@Asus> X-Debbugs-No-Ack: No Thanks User-Agent: Mutt/1.10.1 (2018-07-13) X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.0 required=5.0 tests=FAKE_REPLY_C,SPF_PASS autolearn=disabled version=3.4.2 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.4.2 (2018-09-13) on tupac3.dyne.org On Sat, 25 Apr 2020 11:23:47 -0400 Brian wrote: > Package: dosemu > Version: 1.4.0.7+20130105+b028d3f-2+b1 Brian, Thanks for this. However, dosemu is not a forked package and Devuan uses Debian's package directly. You would be better reporting this to Debian's BTS.
