Dear Maintainer,
the shipped version of mergerfs will cause duplicate entries to show in
midnight commander. The suggested fix (see URL below) is to upgrade
mergerfs to 2.32 or later.

Thanks for this. mergerfs is not a forked package in Devuan and we use Debian's
packages directly without recompilation. So in principle this should be reported
to Debian's BTS. A quick looks shows there is already #989565. Please add you
voice there to get the fix in stable.
Ceres and Daedalus already have 2.33.5-1. Adding fixed version.

I installed mergerfs from daedalus, this fixed the issue.
