As you might have found out this bug has been resolved by 2:2.10-18, fixed by
patches for bug #1056976 by Guillem Jover.

The latest version moves wpa_supplicant to /usr/sbin but all configs,
scripts and programms expect the tool under /sbin.

This breaks network if the only way to access network is wlan.
