lsb-base 11.1.0 used to contain /lib/lsb/init-functions, which is used 
by most
scripts in in /etc/init.d.

lsb-base 11.3 has removed this directory, it's an empty package.

This breaks most of the init scripts, resulting in an unbootable system.

I have seen this happening in the wild.

This is not an issue in Debian, where there are no /etc/init.d scripts
depending on lsb/init-functions, but Devuan systems should not install this
version of the package.

Since this can break boxes, I suggest an urgent fix.

I have now realized that the disappeared files have been moved to 
sysvinit-utils.

So what is missing is a version constraint that would prevent installing 
the new version of lsb-base with the old version of sysvinit-utils.

Thanks. Devuan uses Debian's src:lsb and this has already been reported in
Debian's BTS.

I believe a fix is in version 11.4 but will leave this open to check that the
fix works.

I see.

Given that this was related to sysV-init, i assumed that Debian is not
impacted. My mistake.
